On September 7, 2013, the First Omega Class Regatta for the Cup of the President of Kompania Węglowa took place at the "Fregata" Sailing Center. The organizer of the event was Nadwiślańska Agencja Turystyczna Sp. z o. o. together with the TKKF "Szczygłowice" Center from Knurów.
All previously registered crews took part in the regatta. Attached are the scanned results along with the names of the crew members (the helmsman's name first).
The official start of the regatta took place at 10:00 a.m. and followed the sailing ceremony, where Regatta Commander Piotr Wilchelm announced the official opening of the regatta. The main judge was Henryk Wolny - a first-class judge. The Regatta Manager was Piotr Jarząb from TKKF "Szczygłowice", who reported the course of the regatta on an ongoing basis for numerous viewers.
5 runs took place as planned. Due to the diversity among the yachts, after the first race the so-called "Weaker" yachts and subsequent heats took place in a transfer system (according to the model given in the regulations). The weather was favorable to the competitors - the wind was 2-4 on the Beaufort scale.
At. 6.00 p.m. – the closing ceremony of the Regatta took place, the results were announced and prizes were awarded. The day ended with a picnic and a performance by the "Szkocka Trupa" band (musicians of the Mechanicy Shanty band).
Closing the event, NAT President Piotr Wilchelm expressed hope that the Regatta would become a permanent fixture in the calendar of events for KW S.A. employees. and invited sailors to use the marina at the "Fregata" sailing center in Zarzecze.
