II SAILING REGATTA FOR THE PRESIDENT'S CUP OF KOMPANIA WĘGLOWA S.A. !!
On September 6, 2014, the 2nd Omega Class Regatta for the Cup of the President of Kompania Węglowa S.A. took place at the "Fregata" Sailing Center. The event was organized by Nadwiślańska Agencja Turystyczna Sp. z o. o.
All previously registered crews took part in the regatta. Attached are the scanned results along with the names of the crew members (the helmsman's name first). Attention should be paid to the fact that crews outside the competition were allowed, i.e. Knurów-Szczygłowice (JSW), the second crew from Jankowice (the regulations mention one) and Brzeszcze (due to an incomplete crew).
The official start of the regatta took place at 10.00 and was followed by a sailing ceremony. The regatta commander was Piotr Wilchelm - president of Nadwiślańska Agencja Turystyczna Sp. z o. o. The main judge, just like last year, was Henryk Wolny - a first-class judge.
5 runs took place as planned. Due to the diversity among the yachts, after the first race the so-called "Weaker" yachts and subsequent heats took place in a transfer system (according to the model given in the regulations). The weather was favorable to the competitors, but the first two runs took place in very little wind. (wind 0-2 on the Beaufort scale).
There was a minor incident - the Omega capsized, but the efficient crew quickly put the boat down and continued running.
At. 5.00 p.m. – the closing ceremony of the Regatta took place, the results were announced and prizes were awarded. The cups were presented by the Regatta Commander - Piotr Wilchelm, who thanked the sailors for their sportsmanship and the spectators for their great support.
