The recognizable sign of Świnoujście, which is also an element of the city's official logo, is Stawy Młyny, located at the end of the Western Breakwater in Świnoujście. A pond is nothing more than a navigation mark permanently placed (on land or in the sea) - without the use of an anchor. It usually has the ability to emit light, radio or sound signals, and additionally has a characteristic, easily recognizable shape. This pond in Świnoujście has the shape of a windmill or wind mill - hence the name Stawa Młyny.
